National Presbyterian School, a 300-student independent elementary school (Pre-K 3 through 6th Grade) in Washington, D.C., seeks a full-time Associate Director of Admissions who will begin on July 1, 2026.
In prospective candidates, NPS is looking for an administrator with the skills and qualifications necessary to engage in a successful recruitment process and support a diverse, inclusive community in a manner consistent with the National Presbyterian School mission, philosophy, and core values.
The Associate Director of Admissions works closely with school administrators and faculty and reports directly to the Director of Enrollment and Marketing. Applicants should possess at least a Bachelor’s degree, with prior admissions work preferred. The Associate Director of Admissions is involved in all aspects of the admissions process for prospective families at all NPS grade levels.
Responsibilities include: assisting in handling of applications and communication with applicant families; evaluation and production of appropriate admissions and marketing materials, mailings and publications; management of current student re-enrollment for the succeeding year; representation of the school at various admissions and school events, as well as area admissions fairs, conferences, and workshops; reporting of relevant statistics on admissions and enrollment at NPS; leading the new family welcome program; and, supporting the financial aid application and grant process.
The school is looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
Experience in admissions, preferably in an independent school, and/or in sales and marketing, with elementary school teaching or administrative experience a plus
Proficiency with technology, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Google Suite, as well as experience with student information systems and web-based application and financial aid portals
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
A warm, welcoming, and friendly demeanor to serve as the face of the school with prospective families
High degree of integrity, discretion, and trustworthiness
Data management and analysis skills
Ability to manage and work with people productively and collaboratively
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, resourcefully, and creatively
Professional demeanor and presentation
Strong organizational skills
