Maret is looking for an inspiring and engaging U.S. History teacher who reflects the school’s mission and core values. Candidates should be lifelong learners and have experience differentiating instructional strategies, strong communication skills, and a facility and nimbleness with technology.

Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to and passion for equity, inclusion, and belonging in all facets of their work. The position, supervised by the chair of the Humanities Department, includes serving as an advisor and one or more community responsibilities.

The successful candidate will:

• Have demonstrated expertise in teaching U.S. History at the middle school and upper school levels; experience teaching English is a plus
• Display excellent classroom management skills and enthusiasm for working with middle school and upper school students
• Be committed to professional development and collaboration with colleagues across disciplines
• Place the individual learner at the center of the learning process, embrace different teaching and learning styles, and exhibit a deep passion for teaching and working with students of all ages and differing strengths
• Have a minimum of three years teaching experience
• Have a master’s degree (preferred)

Compensation will between 70 to 120K annually depending on experience and qualifications.
